Paris Through the Lens: A Photographic Journey
Join us for a 5-day, 6-evening photographic adventure through the timeless streets of Paris — one of the most iconic and visually rich cities in the world. While this will be my first time experiencing Paris purely through the lens, that's exactly what makes this workshop special: we'll be discovering the city together, with the curiosity and fresh eyes of a first encounter, rather than retracing a route I've shot a dozen times before.
We'll navigate the city using its efficient public transportation system, giving us the freedom to explore not only major landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, and Notre-Dame, but also the quieter corners, hidden alleyways, and authentic neighborhoods that most visitors walk right past. From grand historic architecture and cobblestone streets to the everyday rhythm of Parisian life — vendors setting up shop, café conversations spilling onto the sidewalk, commuters weaving through morning light — Paris offers an endless, ever-shifting subject for street photography and visual storytelling.
What We'll Shoot
Our focus will be on wide and mid-range compositions — ideal for capturing the sweeping grandeur of Haussmann boulevards as well as the intimacy of café culture and quiet doorways. A short telephoto will also earn its keep, letting us isolate architectural details, compress busy streetscapes, and pick candid moments out of the crowd. We'll work on layering foreground and background, using light and shadow on cobblestones, and finding the small human moments that make a city feel lived-in rather than staged.
Slowing Down to See
This workshop is ultimately about seeing Paris with fresh eyes — slowing down, exploring deeply, and making meaningful photographs rather than checklist snapshots. We'll talk through composition and light in the field, review images together each evening, and push toward photographs that feel like Paris, not just pictures taken in it.
Ready to See Paris Differently?
Six evenings of golden light on the Seine, five days of wandering neighborhoods most tourists never find, and a small group working together to see the city with new eyes — this is Paris the way photographers experience it. Spots are limited to keep the group intimate and the guidance personal. If you're ready to slow down and fall in love with Paris through your camera, reach out today to reserve your place.
