6-Day / 7-Night Workshop $2,995*
Meet and greet in the lobby of the recommended hotel at 7pm on June 13, 2026.
The workshop ends the night of June 19, 2026
Join us for an immersive photographic journey into the heart of the Palouse—a hidden gem in eastern Washington known for its painterly landscapes, rolling hills, and timeless rural scenes. This 3-day workshop is designed for photographers who love soft natural light, sweeping vistas, and the quiet beauty of pastoral America.
The Palouse is often compared to Tuscany, with its undulating wheat fields, historic barns, windmills, and weathered grain silos. During July, the hills turn brilliant green and gold, and the long days offer stunning golden hours for photography. We'll rise early and stay out late to capture dramatic sunrises and sunsets from iconic high points like Steptoe Butte, and we'll explore back roads for hidden compositions, abstract patterns in the fields, and the textures of small-town life.
We'll focus on:
Landscape photography – especially wide shots and compression work using telephoto lenses
Composition and light – reading the land and sky to make strong, clean images
Rural Americana – old barns, rusted trucks, small towns, and railroad crossings
Minimalist and abstract photography – using the lines and curves of the land
This workshop is suitable for all levels. You'll receive personal guidance to elevate your vision and technique. Transportation between shooting locations is included. Come prepared to be inspired by the land—and to leave with a portfolio full of quiet beauty.
