Holland tulips have always been on my list, but as I took over Bryan F. Peterson's workshop to North Holland, I was amazed at how much I loved the place. There are massive fields and fields of tulips everywhere we turned. The people are so generous and kind to visitors. The tulip farmers are very welcoming to respectful photography. The scenery of old windmills, dikes and canals is breathtaking in the morning and evening light. The rows of trees make for excellent shadows and backgrounds. And if we get a foggy morning, you will wish it would never end. The photographic possibilities are amazing here.

In this 4 day workshop, we also take the local train to Amsterdam to walk one of Europe's most beautiful cities. Canals, boats, bicycles, the iconic homes that lean into the streets, beautiful old churches and squares will overwhelm you with subjects. We can practice the art of seeing as well as photographic techniques of panning and blurring movement. 

If that's not enough tulips, we will also travel to Keukenhoff Gardens. The largest gardens in the world with over 7 million tulips gathered in plots and patterns throughout the gardens. The gardens give access to a huge variety of easily accessible subjects for everything from wide shots, to details to macro. In our 4-6 hour visit, you will cover less than half of what Keukenhoff has to offer.
